Parents and families were treated to a dose of holiday cheer Wednesday as Central’s Children’s Center held its annual Christmas programs at Central United Methodist Church.

Children from the 1- and 2-year-old classes sang a variety of Christmas songs during their program, “Snow Babies Christmas,” while 3-year-old children told the story of the birth of Jesus Christ through spoken word and song.

This year’s Christmas program also marked a major shift for the Children’s Center as longtime Director Glenda Thomas prepares to retire after more than 40 years.

The Rev. Scott Wright, senior pastor at Central United Methodist, said Thomas has been with the Center since the beginning and has made a lasting impact on the church, the community and the generations of children entrusted to her care.
