Poultry Association donates to help Mississippians in need

Tens of thousands of pounds of chicken and eggs will now be distributed to families across Mississippi, ensuring they have access to essential protein during the holiday season after the Mississippi Poultry Association to The Salvation Army and Mississippi Food Network.

 

This annual tradition, coordinated by MPA and the recipients chosen by Gov. Tate Reeves, will help alleviate hunger for thousands of families during a time when many are in need.

“This incredible gift could not come at a better time,” said Maj. Timothy Delaney of The Salvation Army. “The holidays can be especially hard for those facing food insecurity, and this donation will provide hope and nourishment to countless individuals and families. We are deeply grateful to the Mississippi Poultry Association for their continued partnership and commitment to helping their neighbors.”

 

The donation, which includes tens of thousands of servings of chicken and eggs, is part of a long-standing initiative by the Mississippi Poultry Association to give back to the community.

 

“The poultry industry’s generosity is a true blessing,” Delaney said. “Thanks to this partnership, The Salvation Army and Mississippi Food Network can ensure that Mississippians in need won’t go without this Christmas.”
