East Mississippi Community College’s Chasden Collins and Braxton Goff have been named to the 2024 NJCAA All-Region 23 football team, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced this week.
Collins, a sophomore wide receiver for the Lions out of Stone High School, earned special teams all-region honors as a return specialist after being chosen the 2024 MACCC North Division Special Teams Player of the Year. Goff, EMCC’s two-year starting center, was one of five all-region selections to the offensive line.
Collins averaged 20.4 yards on 11 punt returns this past season for EMCC, including a 67-yard touchdown return against Hinds, along with averaging 19.8 yards on 18 kickoff returns. The Wiggins native also averaged 11.2 yards on 13 receptions as a sophomore starting wide receiver for the Lions.
Goff, from Petal, anchored EMCC’s offensive line for two seasons, helping lead the 5-4 Lions to the program’s 16th consecutive non-losing season this past year under the guidance of 2024 NJCAA Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee Buddy Stephens. A Tarleton State University signee, Goff is nationally rated as one of the top 10 interior offensive linemen in the junior college ranks by On3 and 247 Sports.
Collins and Goff were also key contributors on EMCC’s 2023 NJCAA runner-up team that went 10-3 overall while claiming the Lions’ ninth conference championship and 11th division title under Stephens’ guidance.
This year’s pair of all-region honorees gives East Mississippi a total of 61 NJCAA All-Region 23 football selections during the Stephens coaching era dating back to the 2008 season.
