Events abound in downtown

Downtown Meridian bustled with activity Thursday evening as multiple events drew visitors from both the local area and throughout the state.

A Sip & Shop event organized by Downtown Meridian, also called Meridian Main Street, drew residents with the promise of holiday deals and a unique shopping experience. Shoppers who participated received 20% off their purchases at participating businesses, as well as an opportunity to sample different wines at each location.

Also on Thursday, The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience hosted its much anticipated event, “Celebrating Eudora and Other Friends,” featuring a screening of a documentary about Eudora Welty produced by Anthony Thaxton, a panel discussion, dinner by Mississippi chef Robert St. John and book signing.
