They received all 62 first-place votes for the third week in a row after scoring their fewest points in 37 games in a 16-13 win over Wisconsin. Ohio State, Texas, Penn State and Indiana rounded out the top five for the second straight week.

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (AP) — Josh Hubbard scored 23 points, Cameron Matthews made several key free throws down the stretch and Mississippi State rallied in the second half to defeat Utah 78-73 in the Mid-South Showdown. KeShawn Murphy scored 18 points, Matthews 12, with 8 of 10 from the line, and Ryan Kugel scored 12 for the Bulldogs. Murphy had 14 rebounds. Matthews made two free throws on back-to-back possessions to put the Bulldogs up 75-71 in the final minute. After a Utes miss, their defensive pressure forced Mississippi State to call timeout twice. Utah then fouled Matthews again. He made one of two, then Kugel got an offensive rebound and made a pair of free throws to put the game out of reach.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Cal transfer Jalen Celestine had 20 points and four 3-pointers off the bench to lead six Baylor players scoring in double figures as the 12th-ranked Bears cruised past Tarleton 104-41. The 3-1 Bears got 17 points from VJ Edgecombe on Sunday night, while Duke transfer Jeremy Roach had 14 points and freshman Robert Wright had 12 points and nine assists. FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Sedona Prince had 31 points and 16 rebounds, Taylor Bigby hit a crucial shot and TCU held off a fourth-quarter rally to defeat No. 13 NC State 76-73. The Horned Frogs saw their 11-point fourth-quarter lead dwindle down to a single point with 44 seconds remaining. After a TCU turnover by Hailey Van Lith, Aziaha James missed a 3-pointer for the Wolfpack and Madison Conner grabbed the defensive rebound. With time running down, Bigby took a pass on the right wing, slipped past her defender and dropped in a left-handed layup with 8.4 seconds remaining to seal the win for TCU. The Horned Frogs used their two fouls to give and time ran out as James missed the potential tying 3-pointer for NC State.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Yaya Felder and Bella Fontleroy each scored 12 points, Sarah Andrews added 11 points, and No. 17 Baylor defeated stubborn Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 65-42. Andrews hit two 3-pointers in the run and Felder had a 3-pointer and two free throws. Neither team shot the ball well. Baylor hit 33% from the field, including 11-for-30 from 3-point distance, and the Bears were 10 for 19 from the free-throw line. The Islanders shot 30%, were 1 for 11 on 3-pointers and hit only 5 of 12 free throws.
