UNDATED (AP) — The signs of success can be found all around Indiana’s campus these days. Three straight home football sellouts. Fans are spinning towels inside Memorial Stadium as voices reach a crescendo. Candy-striped basketball pants are being replaced by the more suddenly preferred candy-striped overalls. Even the start of basketball season at one of the sport’s true blueblood programs cannot diminish the excitement of college football’s biggest surprise and best story. Yes, the FBS program with the most all-time losses, 713, suddenly finds itself in the Top 5 and perhaps on the cusp of earning a playoff spot.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 6 Tennessee at No. 11 Georgia is the main event on the Week 12 college football schedule. The outcome could have major ramifications for the Southeastern Conference in the chase for College Football Playoff spots. A Georgia loss would be its third of the season and effectively end the Bulldogs’ hopes of making the 12-team playoff field. A Tennessee loss would be its second. Though two losses for an SEC team originally wasn’t thought to be insurmountable, it just might be with four Big Ten teams among the top five in this week’s CFP rankings.

UNDATED (AP) — The college football season rolls into Week 12 with nothing settled in the top conference races. One game separates first and sixth place in the SEC. The gap is the same between first and fourth in the ACC. Indiana and Oregon share the Big Ten lead with Ohio State and Penn State lurking. BYU and Colorado have the inside track to the Big 12 championship game. Three games could turn the Big 12 into a free-for-all depending on their outcomes. No. 7 BYU hosts Kansas, No. 18 Colorado is at home against Utah and No. 20 Kansas State hosts Arizona State.
