ATLANTA (AP) — Hunter Dickinson scored 28 points and Bill Self became the winningest coach in Kansas history as the No. 1 Jayhawks pulled away from Michigan State for a 77-69 victory in the Champions Classic. Spartans forward Jaxon Kohler hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 52 with just under nine minutes remaining. KJ Adams Jr. hit a pair of free throws to put Kansas ahead to stay. Frankie Fidler scored 15 points to lead the Spartans. Self improved to 591-143 in his 22nd season coaching the Jayhawks, pushing him past Phog Allen’s mark of 590-219 in 39 seasons.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Jadrian Tracey scored 19 points and Oregon scored the first 11 points in overtime to pull out an 80-70 win over Portland after erasing a 13-point second-half deficit. The Ducks an 11-point hole with 4:46 to play. Tracey made a layup and then Keeshawn Barthelemy hit back-to-back 3-pointers to get back into the game, trailing 60-57 with three minutes left. Chris Austin made a pair of free throws to give Portland a 67-62 lead with 35.6 seconds left but Barthelemy knocked down a quick 3. The Pilots then missed two free throws and after getting a defensive rebound threw the ball away in the key. Barthelemy came up with the loose ball and found Tracey for the tying layup with 10.7 seconds left. Oregon’s momentum carried into overtime with Tracey scoring the first three points.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Josh Dix made 5 of 6 from 3-point range and finished with 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting to lead five Iowa players scoring in double figures and helped the Hawkeyes beat South Dakota 96-77. Seydou Traore and Payton Sandfort scored 12 points apiece for Iowa (3-0). Ladji Dembele and Drew Thelwell each added 11. Dix hit from behind the arc to make it 3-2 with 19:20 left in the first half and the Hawkeyes led the rest of the way. They made 13 3-pointers and shot 54% (37 of 68) overall, including 22 of 35 (65%) from the field in the second half. Kaleb Stewart led South Dakota (3-1) with 26 points

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Nick Martinelli continued his scoring run with 27 points on 10-for-14 shooting and Northwestern beat Illinois-Chicago 83-74. Jalen Leach score 16 points, Ty Berry 13 and reserve Luke Hunger 10 for Northwestern. Javon Jackson scored 17 points, Sasa Ciani 15, Filip Skobalj 13 and Ahmad Henderson II 12 for the Flames.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (AP) — Puff Johnson scored 20 points, Ace Baldwin Jr. added 16 and Penn State rolled to a 92-62 victory over St. Francis (Pa.). It was the third straight rout by Penn State (3-0), which beat Binghamton (108-66) and UMBC (103-54). Johnson and Baldwin combined for five of the Nittany Lions nine 3-pointers. Bobby Rosenberger III scored 14 points to lead St. Francis (1-3). Penn State opened on a 11-0 run, but St. Francis pulled within 25-17 and used a 17-8 surge for its only lead of the game, 34-33, with 2:17 left in the first half.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — JuJu Watkins had 21 points, nine assists and six steals to help No. 3 Southern California trounce Cal State Northridge 124-39. The Trojans improved to 3-0 with six players in double figures, including Kiki Iriafen with 15 points and Kayleigh Heckel with 14 points off the bench. USC’s total points were a program record. Laini Dahlin had 11 points and Erika Aspajo added 10 to lead the Matadors, who fell to 2-1. Northridge had 43 turnovers which led to 63 points for the Trojans. USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb earned her 300th career victory.

UNDATED (AP) — Oregon stayed on top in the second batch of College Football Playoff rankings, while the new poll shoved Georgia completely out of the bracket after its lopsided loss to Mississippi. Led by the Ducks, then Ohio State, the Big Ten captured four of the top five spots. The string was interrupted only by Texas of the Southeastern Conference, which was slotted in at No. 3. Georgia’s loss to Ole Miss dropped the Bulldogs from third to all the way to 12th, but they would be the first team out because No. 13 Boise State of the Mountain West would receive an automatic bid and the 12th seed as the fifth-best conference champion.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Alexis Markowski scored 22 points, Natalie Potts had a double double and No. 21 Nebraska cruised to an 84 win over Southern. Potts had 17 points and 12 rebounds, eight on the offensive end, for the Cornhuskers. Aniya Gourdine scored 22 points for the Jaguars, who have played the hardest opening schedule in the country. Their other losses were to Top 10 teams Oklahoma and Iowa State as well as Missouri and head to Colorado for their next game. Nebraska only led 15-13 after one quarter and closed the second with a 10-0 run to lead 36-26 at halftime. The Cornhuskers had an early 7-0 run in the third quarter, which ended with an 8-0 for a 61-43 lead.
