City of Meridian residents will have an opportunity to get rid of leaves, pine straw and other yard debris as WastePro began leaf season pickup Monday.

 

Leaf season runs from Nov. 11 to March 15 each year to allow residents to dispose of leaves and other yard debris. To ensure it is picked up, however, residents must follow certain guidelines.

 

— Leaves and pine straw must be in their own pile with limbs, branches, sticks and other solid debris in a separate pile.

 

— Piles should be no further than five feet from the curb.

 

— No household garbage is allowed in debris piles.

 

— Tree limbs should be cut to sections 6-feet in length or shorter and can have a maximum diameter of eight inches.

 

WastePro provides debris pickup for residents only and will not pick up anything left by contractors, landscape companies, tree removal service or other commercial service providers.
