ATLANTA (AP) — Cam Ward and No. 4 Miami finally ran out of second-half comebacks as Haynes King led Georgia Tech to a 28-23 win over the previously unbeaten Hurricanes, giving the Yellow Jackets their first win over a top-five team in 15 years. Fans rushed the field, toppling both goalposts, after the game. King ran for 93 yards with a touchdown and threw for a score. The Yellow Jackets overcame 347 passing yards and three touchdown passes by Ward. Georgia Tech became bowl-eligible and ended a two-game losing streak.
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Xavier Brown caught a touchdown pass and ran for another score as Virginia upset No. 23 Pittsburgh 24-19. Anthony Colandrea passed for 143 yards and ran for 40 more as the Cavaliers snapped a three-game losing streak to put a serious dent in Pitt’s hopes of crashing the ACC title game. The Panthers have dropped two straight following their best start since 1982. Pitt lost redshirt freshman quarterback Eli Holstein in the third quarter when he was hit high and late by Virginia’s Mike Diatta. Holstein’s replacement Nate Yarnell struggled, throwing a pair of interceptions.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Cade Klubnik threw three touchdown passes to help No. 19 Clemson beat Virginia Tech 24-14. The Tigers used Klubnik’s arm and a terrific performance by their defense to bounce back from a home loss to Louisville and remain in the ACC title race. Clemson also beat Virginia Tech for the seventh straight time. Kyron Drones paced Virginia Tech with 115 yards passing, but he was replaced in the fourth quarter after the Hokies fell behind 21-7.
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Maalik Murphy threw two touchdown passes and scored the go-ahead TD on a short third-quarter keeper to help Duke grind past NC State 29-19. Todd Pelino kicked 50- and 49-yard field goals for the Blue Devils. The defense also led the way with two takeaways while holding NC State to 268 total yards. CJ Bailey threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Wesley Grimes for the Wolfpack’s only touchdown. NC State settled for four field goals from Kanoah Vinesett. Duke won while finishing with 276 yards and going 0 for 9 on third-down.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Riley Leonard rushed for two touchdowns, passed for 215 yards and one touchdown and No. 10 Notre Dame heaped more misery onto Florida State by overpowering the Seminoles 52-3. Notre Dame (8-1) rolled up 453 yards of total offense while the defense had eight sacks and two additional tackles for loss. Notre Dame’s victory, the largest in a rivalry highlighted by down-to-the-wire finishes, evened the series at 6-6. On Leonard’s first touchdown, he broke to the left side and sprinted 34 yards, diving into the end zone. He sliced through the Florida State defense for a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler each scored 19 points and No. 12 Tennessee held Louisville to 27% shooting in a 77-55 rout. The Volunteers, who shot 57%, outrebounded the Cardinals 40-26 and outscored them 40-10 in the paint in the first meeting between the schools since 2018. Tennessee led 10-0 after five minutes and several times by at least 20 points, pulling away for the last time after Louisville closed within 47-38 early in the second half. Reyne Smith came off the bench to score 18 points for the Cardinals, who shot 16 of 60 for the game.
ATLANTA (AP) — Miami quarterback and Heisman Trophy contender Cam Ward has another milestone on his resume. Ward is now the Hurricanes’ single-season record holder for touchdown passes, reaching that mark Saturday. His first scoring pass of the game — a 74-yard throw to Elijah Arroyo in the first quarter of the fourth-ranked Hurricanes’ game at Georgia Tech — was his 30th of the season. Ward, the first FBS quarterback to reach the 30-touchdown mark this season, entered Saturday tied with Steve Walsh for the school single-season record. Walsh had 29 touchdown passes for the Hurricanes in 1988.
BOSTON (AP) — Backup quarterback Grayson James threw an 18-yard TD to tight end Jeremiah Franklin on a fourth-and-1 play late in the game, and Boston College held off Syracuse 37-31 on Saturday in the 100th anniversary of the schools’ first meeting. The Eagles (5-4, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) rushed for 313 yards, halting a three-game losing streak and moving a win away from bowl eligibility in coach Bill O’Brien’s first season. Kye Robichaux ran for 198 yards and 2 TDs, and Jordan McDonald had 133 yards with a score for BC. James completed 5 for 6 passes for 51 yards. Kyle McCord went 31-of-48 for 392 yards and two TDs for Syracuse (6-3, 3-3). BC quarterback Thomas Castellanos limped off the field after the opening drive in the third quarter.
