Meridian Community College will host its Community Resource Fair 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 21, in Ivy-Scaggs Hall to connect students to local resources and services.

Attendees can explore various community organizations and service providers, learn about resources available for education, healthcare, employment and housing, and talk with representatives from different agencies.

More than 20 agencies who will be attending.

“This is one of my favorite events,” said Shaquita Hopson Alfonso, associate director of military and veteran services and Complete 2 Compete coach, about the fair, which the college hosts in the fall and spring semesters. “Bringing in other people and resources makes a difference for our students.”

She said there are so many things MCC can help students with and will have many college representatives at the fair.

“The Community Resource Fair allows us to give students connections for help,” she said.
