Shoppers will be able to purchase an array of baked goods, including fresh bread, cookies, muffins, cakes and pies, cheese straws, cupcakes and tarts at this Saturday’s market. While produce starts to become scarce in August’s scorching temperatures, some fresh vegetables will still be available. Regular vendors also will be at market with fresh eggs and honey.

The Greater Meridian Health Clinic bus will be on hand offering free health screenings, and the Bobby Simmons gospel duo will provide entertainment for the day.

New vendors for this market include a gardener, who will be selling potted plants, and Roadside Rescue Network, a local group of Mississippi volunteers who rescue animals in need. Roadside Rescue volunteers will be offering educational materials about pet adoptions and selling doggy treats.

After shopping at Earth’s Bounty, check out the Meridian Railroad Museum next door. Rail fans of all ages will love watching the model train sets and exploring railroad memorabilia throughout the museum. Also, walk up Front Street to the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience, which offers free admission on the first Saturday of the month. Check out The MAX’s state-of-the-art interactive exhibits featuring legendary Mississippi musicians, actors and writers.

Earth’s Bounty is open from 8 a.m. until noon the first Saturday of the month from April through November.
