The 17th annual Reconciliation Week came to an end Saturday with motorcycle riders and classic car owners taking part in the memorial Reconciliation Run Parade through Meridian.

Reconciliation Week is a yearly week of reflection and remembrance of those killed in a mass shooting at the Lockheed Martin plant on July 8, 2003. An employee of the plant killed five people and wounded eight others before committing suicide, and a sixth victim died later of their injuries.

Family members of the Rev. Charlie J. Miller helped found Reconciliation Week and host events and activities aimed at honoring his, and the other victims’, DeLois Bailey, Sam Cockrell, Micky Fitzgerald, Lynette McCall and Thomas Willis, memories.

The annual parade, which marks an end to each year’s Reconciliation Week, traveled from the Lockheed Martin plant to 22nd Avenue before going north on Highway 39 to its end at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
