Stuff the Bus kicks off with Lauderdale County

The United Way of East Mississippi kicked off its annual back-to-school giving program Thursday as Stuff the Bus was held in Lauderdale County.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., school supplies, uniforms and monetary donations were collected at Raising Cane’s on North Hills Street, as well as both Walmart Supercenters, to help local students start the coming school year with the clothing and supplies they need to be successful.

Following its Lauderdale County drives, Stuff the Bus was held Friday in Neshoba County. Drives in Clarke and Kemper counties are also planned to be held next week.

The Clarke County Stuff the Bus event will be held July 16 across from Chickasawhay Natural Gas, and Kemper County Stuff the Bus will be held July 17 at Pilgrim’s Foodliner. Both events will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
