The NaphCare Charitable Foundation has awarded scholarships to Gabriel Creekmore and Anthony Gordon II, two recent graduates of Northeast Lauderdale High School.
“We congratulate these recipients on their achievements and look forward to witnessing their continued growth and accomplishments,” Deanna Newton, the foundation’s executive director of educational giving, said in a news release announcing the scholarship recipients.
Creekmore and Gordon were among students from 13 schools in Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky selected to receive the scholarships. The NaphCare Charitable Foundation has awarded a total of 20 scholarships to graduating seniors at Northeast Lauderdale High School since 2019.
“This scholarship will significantly ease my financial burden, allowing me to focus more on my studies and less on worrying about tuition fees,” Creekmore wrote, thanking the foundation’s selection committee. “It will also enable me to purchase the necessary textbooks and materials required for my courses.”
The NCF scholarship benefits graduating high school seniors who are pursuing a two-year associate’s degree or approved training program at an accredited community college, technical institution or trade school of higher learning in the United States. The scholarships are intended to cover tuition, fees, books and other expenses in an effort to alleviate the financial burden often associated with seeking higher education.
NaphCare’s scholarship program allows the foundation to pursue its mission to advance the safety and well-being of communities through research educational programs and scholarship opportunities.
