The Jimmie Rodgers Festival’s Friday night lineup is changing venues as wet weather is expected to move into the area toward the end of the week.

Leslie Lee, executive director of the Jimmie Rodgers Foundation, said in a news release the Friday concert will be held at the Temple Theater, located at 2320 Eighth St., instead of The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience as previously scheduled.

Lee said an additional 100 tickets to the performance will be made available for sale on the festival’s website beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, giving festival goers another chance to see what was previously a sold-out event. Tickets will be available at jimmierodgers.com

Friday’s concert will open with Meridian’s Lach Thorton Band taking the stage at 6 p.m., followed by Heartless Bastards who will open for the Red Clay Strays.

The Festival will be back at The MAX for its Saturday night music and Sunday Gospel Brunch.
