Visit Meridian announces Hospitality Heroes Award

Visit Meridian is looking to recognize the hard-working individuals in the hospitality and tourism industry through its Hospitality Heroes Awards and is seeking nominations for outstanding workers who will be recognized throughout National Travel and Tourism Week, which is set for May 19-25.
The tourism organization is accepting nominations for individuals who have greatly contributed to the travel and tourism experience in the area, such as a hotel staff member who provides exceptional customer service to guests, a server who went out of their way to make dining in Meridian extra special or a bartender who makes everyone feel right at home.

“Visitor spending is rebounding in Lauderdale County and that would not be possible without dedicated, talented and enthusiastic hospitality partners,” said Laura Carmichael, executive director at Visit Meridian. “We are grateful for the opportunity to recognize their achievements and want to thank everyone in the industry who works to represent Meridian and Lauderdale County so well.
Nominations can be submitted through an online form through May 15. Categories include attractions/venues, hotel/lodging, restaurant/dining, mixology and retail. All nominees must work in the hospitality industry within Lauderdale County.
A winner will be selected from each category. An overall Hospitality Hero winner will receive $500. Awards will be presented during and special Travel & Tourism Week press conference at Dumont Plaza and announced on social media.
