Arrests made in 2022 homicides

Meridian Police Department on Friday announced arrests in two homicide investigations dating back to 2022.
In a news release, Det. Chanetta Stevens said officers arrested 25-year-old Daquarrius L. Williams and charged him with murder in connection with the June 16, 2022, shooting death of Garrian Owens. Owens was shot and killed in the 2300 block of Highway 39.
MPD previously arrested and charged Jaelin Price, Kemondrae Stripling, Jaylen Fox and CJ Mclelland in connection with Owens’ death. Price was charged with accessory after the fact. Stripling, Fox and Mclelland were charged with murder.
In a separate investigation, officers arrested Dezjuan D. Moffite, 19, and charged him with murder in the death of Jaqualyn M. Darby. Darby was shot and killed in the 800 block of 29th Street on May 12, 2022.
Both Williams and Moffite are being held without bond.
