EC Healthnet doctor serves at Capitol

Dr. Melissa Stephens, a family medicine practitioner and program director of EC Healthnet Family Medicine Residency Program in Meridian, served as Legislative Doctor of the Day at the Mississippi Capitol on Monday, Jan. 22. Stephens also serves as associate dean of population health at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In that capacity, Stephens was available to provide emergency medical treatment to lawmakers and staff. State Sen. Chris Johnson, who represents Forrest and Perry counties, introduced Stephens and medical residents of EC Healthnet Family Medicine Residency Program at the event.
