Michaels will hold its grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Meridian hobbyists and crafters will have a new place to shop for their materials as Michaels is set to hold its grand opening Jan. 13 in the Meridian Crossroads shopping center.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the store to celebrate opening its doors, and the public is invited to come join in the festivities.

“Help us celebrate our new store filled with everything you’ve dreamed of plus a fantastic staff,” the store said in a news release announcing the opening.

As part of its grand opening, Michaels will be giving out tote bags and free kettle corn to the first 100 customers as well as hourly drawings and two grand prizes of $100 gift cards.

Additionally, shoppers will have an opportunity to participate in in-store craft activities and facepainting as well as music from the Meridian High School Pep Band.
