Meridian and Lauderdale County residents will need to be aware when to have their trash containers on the curb as schedules may changer during the holiday garbage pickup.

In Meridian, there will be no garbage pickup on Monday, Dec. 25, which is Christmas Day.

Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 26, collection schedules will resume with Monday’s routes. Tuesday routes will be picked up Wednesday, Wednesday routes Thursday and so on until Saturday, Dec. 30.

There will be no changes to garbage collection in Meridian for New Year’s.

Residents are asked to have their carts out on the curb by 6 a.m. on the day of pickup.

Lauderdale County residents will have their garbage pickups run a day behind for both Christmas and New Year’s weeks. Monday garbage will be collected Tuesday, Tuesday collected Wednesday and so on, beginning Dec. 26 and needing Jan. 6.

The roll off dumpster sites at county satellites will also be closed for Christmas on Dec. 25-26, and New Year’s on Jan. 1.

City and county offices will also be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 for the holidays.
