Contemporary mixed media has taken the spotlight with the new Casteel Gallery show, “Vertical Horizons: Inharmonic Shifts of Light, Color, and Texture,” which opened this week at the Homer Casteel Gallery on the campus of Meridian Community College.

The works are by Robert Evans, an MCC alumnus who is an artist and general manager at Hope Village for Children. Evans also studied at East Central Community College, the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Maryland, as well as served in the military.

The show will have a reception celebrating the artist on Tuesday, Jan. 30, the exhibit’s closing date.

The Homer Casteel Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free.
