“Tyler is a longtime employee and understands our way of doing business as a community bank. He’s also progressed in each position he has held at our bank and is always very eager to take on additional responsibilities and to grow professionally,” said Neil Henry, CNB’s Meridian Regional President, in announcing the promotion.

Henry said Covington “knows and understands credit underwriting at a high level, and balances that expertise with a strong desire to know and understand each customer’s financial needs. One of his greatest strengths is building relationships with his customers because he follows up and steps up when a customer needs a financial partner. Through his in-depth knowledge in the financial industry, he adds value to each customer relationship and knows how to get the job done.”

Graduating from Mississippi State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Covington also received certification through the Barret School of Banking’s Commercial Lender Academy in Memphis in 2019. He currently is enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and will graduate in May 2024. Active in the community, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Meridian Children’s Museum, as president of the MSU Alumni Association for Lauderdale County and as an ambassador for the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation. In addition, he serves as treasurer of Wesley House Community Center. He is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Lauderdale and is a former president of the Young Professionals of Meridian.

Covington and his wife, Amy, are the parents of three children, Myles, 6; Hayes, 4; and Olivia, 2. The family attends First Baptist Church in Meridian, where he serves on the church’s Finance Committee.
