Workers with Columbus-based Falcon Contracting use a milling machine to grind up the top layer of asphalt along 22nd Avenue on Monday in downtown Meridian.

A paving project in Meridian’s medical district resumed Monday as Falcon Contracting crews picked up where they left off a few weeks ago. Workers began milling up old asphalt along 22nd Avenue to ready the road for fresh paving.

Several streets within the downtown area and medical district have already been paved as part of the first phase of the project, with re-surfacing of additional streets set to get underway.
