- The annual Queen City Race for Life and Street Strut expanded this year, with a car show added to the festivities Saturday at Meridian Community College.
Meridian residents, students and families gathered at Meridian Community College on Saturday as the college hosted the annual Queen City Race for Life and Street Strut. This year’s event featured a 5K run, one-mile walk and one-mile fun run. New this year was the addition of a car show, with a number of classic car owners coming out to support the event.
The race and associated events are held to bring awareness to breast cancer, recognize the survivors of the disease and raise funds to help those currently fighting the cancer. Proceeds from the events go to the Anderson Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.
