generic road closed

A portion of North Hill Street will be closed Thursday as crews work to prepare the road for an upcoming paving project.

The closure is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Public Works Director David Hodge said the closure, which will run from Highway 19 to Riverbirch Drive, is needed to make drainage improvements prior to the city beginning the larger project resurfacing North Hills Street.

Meridian received a $3.4 million appropriation from the state Legislature to repave the busy thoroughfare from Highway 19 to Highway 39 as well as make some minor corrections to the road. Paving work is expected to begin in the next few months.
