Rosenbaum seeks Lauderdale Justice Court judgeship

David Rosenbaum Jr., who has served almost three decades in a variety of law enforcement positions in Meridian and Lauderdale County, has announced his candidacy to become the Justice Court judge in District One of Lauderdale County.

In his election announcement, Rosenbaum, a Republican, said his law enforcement career has prepared him for the judgeship.

A graduate of Lamar School and Meridian Community college with a nursing degree, Rosenbaum began his career as a deputy in Oktibbeha County before transferring to the Meridian Police Department and then to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department in 2000.

“I have worked in almost every facet of law enforcement over the years. I worked my way up from corrections, patrol, traffic enforcement, K-9, shift commander and investigations,” Rosenbaum said in his news release. “In 2018, I accepted a job as a training coordinator for the State of Mississippi with the Oxford Police Department and MsTIDE. I was responsible for traveling all over the state training new officers in Standardized Field Sobriety (SFST), Advanced Training for Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).”

Rosenbaum has also assisted in teaching at justice court and municipal court conferences for judges and served in statewide law enforcement organizations during his career.
