Meridian police are investigating the death of a man who was found shot Sunday morning.

Police were called around 5:30 a.m to a residence on Davis Street and found the man’s body, said MPD Detective Rochester Anderson. The man was identified as 60-year old William Earl Brookins of Meridian, Anderson said.

Brookins’ body was taken to a crime lab for a autopsy, and Anderson said the case is being treated as a homicide.
