A demolition crew spent Wednesday tearing down the old Firestone service station near the vacant Village Fair Mall in Meridian. The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors in June purchased the approximately 39-acre mall property, with plans to demolish the mall and develop the site for a new county courthouse.
