West advances to state semifinals with 7-1 win vs. Greene Co.

Just one day after Kameron Partridge provided a walk-off hit to lift West Lauderdale to a Game 1 win over Greene County in the third round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs, the senior delivered another stellar performance that ultimately helped the Knights clinch the series.

Partridge struck out 11 Greene County batters, walked one and allowed just two hits as West Lauderdale advanced to the Class 4A South State championship round with a 7-1 road win Friday.

“Gutsy performance from Kameron Partridge on the mound,” West Lauderdale coach Jason Smith said. “Great effort from the team. (We’re) extremely blessed to get to continue playing.”

Cade Kennedy paced West Lauderdale with three hits and three RBIs. Kennedy swatted two doubles. Brandon Andreacchio was 2-for-3 with one run. Mason Willis went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and one run. Braden Luke finished with one RBI.

Ben Ethridge and JJ Rowcliff stole one base apiece.

West Lauderdale out-hit Greene County 11-2.

The Knights led 5-1 at the end of the third inning, and they poured on another two runs in the seventh.
