Theater lovers have a lot to choose from during the upcoming season at Meridian Little Theatre.

The 87th season at MLT will offer a mix of scary science fiction, a musical inspired by true events, a modern Christmas fairy tale and a side-splitting farce. The season starts in October and will include three full-length musicals and comedy.

“We are very excited about the new season,” MLT Executive Director Ellie Massey said in a news release. “We have two shows that have been produced in previous seasons at MLT and two shows that we’ve never done before.” .

Massey said the MLT board of directors chose more musicals this year based on responses from the community.

The theatre has been trying to bring several of the shows, such as “Little Shop of Horrors: The Musical” for several years. The last time the musical was produced at MLT was the 1980s, she said.

In addition to the shows, MLT will also host its annual CenterStage Youth production in January 2020 and a dinner theatre in March 2020.

The shows are as follows:

Little Shop of Horrors: The Musical – October 3-8.

Elf: The Musical – Dec. 5-10.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – Jan. 16-17, 2020.

Noises Off!: February 20-25, 2020.

Newsies: The Musical – May 7-12, 2020.
