Drug Take Back collects 177 pounds over two days

The Meridian Police Department received 177 pounds of unwanted and unused drugs during a two-day collection as part of the National Drug Take Back Day this weekend.
Lt. Rita Jack, with the Meridian Police Department, reported that the department collected 93 pounds on Friday at Total Pain Care and another 84 at Saturday’s event at the Bonita Lakes Mall.

Weems MPACC (Mississippi Prevention Alliance for Communities and Colleges) distributed 32 prescription lock boxes and educational materials to residents who dropped off unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications.
