Thursday, May 2
• 4:30 p.m. – K-6th Grade Sand Art Craft at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library.
• 4:30-6:30 p.m. – Mitchell Distributing will host its annual Business After Hours at their warehouse in Meridian, 100 James E. Chaney Dr., Meridian. Live music from Aa’keela, “Taste of Meridian” featuring food from local restaurants, beer sampling.
• 5 p.m. – The Greater Meridian Chapter of Mississippi Valley State University Alumni will have its meeting at the Council of Organizations Bldg., 814-45th Ave. New officers will be elected at this time. There will be no meetings for the months of June and July. FMI: 601-350-0255.
Friday, May 3
• 7-10 a.m. – Young Professionals of Meridian will have its annual Beignet Breakfast at the Temple Theatre. Beignets at $10 a dozen or 3 beignets with a drink for $5. We will deliver 10 dozen or more, and you can drive through and pick up at Temple Theatre. Preorders by April 30. Please email orders to Freddie Monsour at FAM@emlaw-ms.com. • 11:30 a.m. – Meridian Community College Spring Graduation-Nursing and Health Education at Evangel Temple.
• 1:30 p.m. – The East Central MS Retired Educators Association (ECMREA) will have its May meeting at the Meridian Senior Citizens Center, 3300 32nd Ave. Members and retired educators should arrive for the social at 1:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 2 p.m. with the “Spring Fling” following. • 8 a.m. – Return of Meridian Art Walk to Union Station – music, arts and community. Meet local artists and get a preview of Rose Hill Cemetery Tours 10th Anniversary Tour. Jimmie Rodgers Talent Competition at Singing Brakeman Park during Earth’s Bounty Farmer’s Market.
• 8 a.m.-1 p.m. – Spring Plant Sale by East Mississippi Master Gardeners at the Farmer’s Market on Front St. and 18th Ave. Plants are all locally grown. FMI: 601-485-8096.
• 8:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – 30th Annual Collinsville Lively Arts Festival. A homecoming with political speakers, musical entertainment throughout the day, dance performances, craft and food vendors.
• 7 p.m. – Steve Forbert Live with Paul Burch at the Temple Theatre. Tickets on sale now: $15 and $20 day of show.

• 2 p.m. – The Meridian Community College Concert Band will be performing their annual spring concert in the MCC McCain Theatre. This year’s theme will be the 75th Anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy.

• 11 a.m. – Adult Coloring at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library.

• 10 a.m. – Baby/Toddler Mother’s Day Craft at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library. Chess Club meets at 4:30 p.m.
