A man died when his car hit a tree in Clarke County Tuesday morning.

Gregory Stallings, 64, of Shubuta was killed on Highway 18 West when his vehicle struck a tree at 8:01 a.m., according to a report from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Stallings, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. Next of kin has been contacted, the report said.
