Three Meridian Police Department officers remain on administrative leave without pay since early February pending the results of an internal investigation and state auditor’s investigation.
Meridian Police Chief Benny Dubose confirmed that officers remain suspended but said their names would remain on the roster list.
“Even if the results of the investigation are termination, their names will remain on the roster until their termination moves through Civil Service,” Dubose said.
Since the investigation hasn’t concluded, the officers remain in limbo. As Civil Service employees, police officers must go through an additional process following termination.
The State Auditor’s Office said Thursday that it can’t comment on or confirm pending investigations.
