The group Rise Above Poverty is holding a pop-up shop Saturday in Meridian to benefit people in need.
Rise Above Poverty will open the the spring pop up boutique in Dumont Plaza as a way to raise money to support some of the services it provides for the community. For the last 20 years, RAP has provided scholarships, food boxes and assisted playing utility bills for people who need help, event coordinator Patricia Flowers said.
This year’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Flowers said there will be local vendors and food at the event.
The pop-up shop, also, allows community members to learn more about RAP and how they can support the organization.
For more information or to have a booth during the event, call Flowers at 601-479-8509 or send an email to riseabovepoverty2004@gmail.com or sbdavidson33@gmail.com.
