- An armed suspect was taken into custody near 22nd Street and 23rd Avenue in Meridian shortly after 2:30 Thursday.
A man wanted for an auto burglary earlier this week briefly evaded police before surrendering around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday.
Police received a call that Jarvis Butler, 26, was located at a residence on the 2200 block of 23rd Avenue, Sgt. Dareall Thompson, of the Meridian Police Department, said.
Once confirming that Butler was in the home, and possibly armed, police called SWAT, according to the police scanner.
Within an hour of police arrival, Butler and an unidentified homeowner were taken into custody, Thompson said.
Thompson said it was too early to determine whether or not the homeowner would face charges.
