The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital where he died, said Lauderdale County Coroner  Clayton Cobler.

The incident started with a fight between Forrest and two people and escalated when the Forrest shot the victim, Thompson said. Forrest knew the victim, and the shooting was a result of a dispute that had been going for several weeks, Thompson said.

A gun was recovered from the scene, Thompson said.

Forrest is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility. His bond was set at 1 million dollars.
