Christmas parade route updated from previous years

- In past years, the parade made a turn on Front Street. This year, it will instead circle around Dumont Plaza on 4th Street before turning onto 22nd Avenue.
After two rain delays the Merry Meridian Christmas Parade is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 in downtown.
The parade will line up on 25th Avenue between 8th and 14th Streets, turning on 8th Street to formally start the celebration.
The route will then turn south on 23rd Avenue, passing City Hall, before circling around Dumont Plaza via 4th Street and moving north on 22nd Avenue.
The parade will end at the intersection of 22nd Avenue and 13th Street. In a change from previous years, the parade will no longer turn on Front Street and will cut through 4th Street instead.
The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday, mainly before 7 a.m.
