A late-night accidental fire displaced a Causeyville resident Tuesday night, destroying a home and a Tahoe.

The woman was inside of the home at the time of the fire but escaped without injuries, Allan Dover, the Lauderdale County Fire Coordinator said.

Volunteer firefighters from Long Creek, Toomsuba and Southeast responded to the fire, on the 6800 block of Causeyville Road, between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday and stayed until past 2 a.m., Dover said.

“It was fully involved by the time we got there,” Dover said. 

Dover said Wednesday morning he hadn’t met with the homeowner yet, but a preliminary investigation indicated the fire was accidental, he said.
