The biannual event to collect unwanted and unused medications in the Meridian area finished with more than 100 pounds of prescription medication dropped off over two days. 

The Meridian Police Department reported 107.5 pounds of collected prescriptions from Total Pain Care and the department precinct at the Bonita Lakes Mall.

The department partners with the Drug Enforcement Administration for this event, which keeps the unused prescription medications out of the hands of teenagers and safety disposes the drugs.
