Both the Meridian Police Department and Total Pain Care will be accepting unwanted or expired prescriptions this week as part of a drug take-back initiative from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The collections for unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medicines will be held at two different locations by local law enforcement officers:
• On Friday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Total Pain Care, located at 1001 14th St. in Meridian.
• On Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bonita Lakes Mall police precinct near the movie theater.
Officers will not accept syringes, needles, injectables or any other sharps during these events.
Total Pain Care, a sponsor of the event, will provide goodie bags to individuals who participate.
