Neshoba Central band wins Northeast Regional competition

The Neshoba Central High School recently won the “Grand Champion” trophy from the Northeast Regional Marching Championship.
The band was under the direction of Daniel Wade. Wade was also named Class 5A best overall drum majors, Class 5A overall color guard, Class 5A best overall percussions, Class 5A best overall band and Class 4A, 5A and 6A best overall band, which led to win the title, according to a school news release.

“It was shocking and very exciting to hear Neshoba’s name called out so many times,” Wade said.
Superintendent Lunday Brantley said he was excited to hear about the bands achievements.
“Our band has done an exceptional job,” said Brantley.
The band will now focus on Saturday’s Mississippi High School Activities Association Region 3 Marching Evaluation at Neshoba Central High School’s Rocket Field. The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., with Neshoba performing at 5:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m Neshoba Central High School band will host the Neshoba Central Rocket Invitational, with the band performing at 10 p.m. Both events are open for the public to attend.
