Powe, 30, now faces nine additional charges for possession of child pornography, four charges for sexual battery, one count of kidnapping and two counts of human trafficking.

Samantha Morgan, a neighbor of Powe’s on Omitted Road in Meridian, also faces charges for human trafficking and child pornography.

“These were additional counts discovered during the course of the investigation and evidence gathered against (Morgan),” Ward Calhoun, the chief deputy of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, said. “The investigation is not complete. We anticipate more arrests.”

Calhoun said the human trafficking charges stemmed from Powe’s and Morgan’s attempt to sell a minor to other people online. The kidnapping charge relates to Powe not allowing an individual in the residence to leave. Calhoun didn’t confirm whether the two charges are for the same victim.

The case will be presented to the next available grand jury, Calhoun said.

Morgan has a bond set at $30,000 and Powe’s bond has increased from $30,000 to $390,000.
