Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday:

• Malicious mischief/destroying property – Sharika S. Pruitt, born in 1989, 2305 D St., Meridian.

• Shoplifting – Justin L. Brown, born in 1996, 6280 Oxford Rd., Lauderdale.

• Driving under the influence/other – Adrian G. Coleman, born in 1969, 3906 North Hills St., Meridian.

• Possession of marijuana – James Parker Jr., born in 2000, 5616 Cooper Circle, Meridian. Parker is also charged with giving false information.

• Shooting in the city – Katherine L. Robert, born in 1975, 225 Bolden St., Union.

Incident Reports

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Thursday to Friday:

Commercial burglary

• 5100 block of 5th St. at 10:16 p.m.

Auto burglary

• 800 block of A St. at 3:47 a.m.

• Meridian Police responded to 2 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on scene, only one showed evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday.

• Arson – Laquan Akeem Fluker, 24, 2023 23rd St., Meridian.

• Disturbance in public place – Demeturis Lavon Ford (Welch), 39, 130 Beetle Dr. 184, Yantley, Ala.

• Sale of controlled substance – Rico Mondrell Toole, 39, 1403 43rd Ave., Meridian.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents from Thursday through Friday:

Suspicious vehicle

• Hwy. 19S, Meridian.

Theft

• Northeast Cole Road, Lauderdale.

Stolen vehicle

• Hwy. 80W, Chunky.

Mississippi Highway Patrol

• Possession of cocaine – Cedric Lamont Williams, 38, 117 Booker Ln. B, York, Ala. Williams is also charged with possession of marijuana/first offense.

Fire Runs

The Meridian Fire Departments reported the following calls from Thursday through Friday:

• False call, 60th Place South.

• Vehicle accident, North Hills St.

• Overpressure rupture, Interstate 20.

• Brush/grass fire, West Gate Hills Drive.

The Lauderdale County Volunteer Fire Departments reported the following calls from Thursday through Friday:

• Emergency medical service call, North Shore Drive (Toomsuba).

• Tree down, Byrd Doerner Road (Martin).

• Brush fire, Old Marion Road (Marion).

• Brush fire, Vimville Causeyville Road (Southeast).

Metro Ambulance reported 48 emergency runs Friday at 2 p.m.
