The Meridian Police Department arrested Kenmonte Wooten Wednesday evening for the Monday shooting death of 18-year-old Jamarcus Lloyd.

Police charged Wooten, 17, with murder and drive-by shooting but didn’t release more details, MPD Sgt. Dareall Thompson said.

Thompson said Wooten had $1,000,000, or $500,000 for each charge, in bond and would have a preliminary hearing on Thursday. 

Lloyd died in the 3700 block of Paulding Street around 9 p.m.
