Food, fellowship and family fun are all part of Union Day, which is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 16 in downtown Union.

On tap for the festival are activities such as pony rides, a kids’ zone, train rides, and lots of music, according to Sherry Harrison, president of the Union Chamber of Commerce.

“There’s something for everyone,” she said.

“It’s definitely family-oriented, and we’ve got lots of good food vendors.”

Harrison said “boutique-style” vendors will offer a wide variety of sweets, arts, crafts and other items, just in time for Father’s Day.

At 10 a.m., the Union Day pageant will kick off, immediately followed by live music from country music artist Britt Gully and friends.

More music is planned through the day, from artists such as the Joyful Heirs, The Larry Blackburn Band and others.

The day will also feature a car and truck parade and a car show from the Meridian Corvette Club.

“It’s going to be a non-stop day,” Harrison said.
