Lauderdale County man arrested following police chase

Lauderdale County deputies and police officers from Meridian were involved in a chase that ended with the arrest of a man accused of fleeing police and commiting several traffic violations.

Marco Sanchez Seals, born in 1989, faces charges for felony fleeing and driving under the influence, second offense.

Additionally, Seals has been charged with not wearing a seat belt, not having insurance, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, disregarding a traffic light, not having a driver’s license and having an expired tag. 

Ward Calhoun, the chief deputy of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, said that a Meridian Police officer attempted to pull Seals over near Highland Park and pursued Seals across Meridian.

Two deputies joined the pursuit near North Hills Street and Seals stoppped at a home on Knox Road, near the intersection of Knox Road and Lauderdale-Toomsuba Road.

Bond for Seals has been set at $7,471, with a $5,000 bond for felony fleeing and $2,471 for Seals’ other charges.
