Baseball roundups: Ole Miss rallies in 10th, tops Georgia 5-4 in SEC Tournament

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Tim Rowe’s two-out single scored Thomas Dillard with the winning run in the 10th inning Thursday as No. 2 seed Ole Miss edged No. 3 seed Georgia 5-4 in a Southeastern Conference Tournament elimination game.

Ole Miss (43-15) plays Friday against the loser of Thursday’s game between No. 7 seed Auburn and No. 11 seed Texas A&M.
The Rebels rallied after Georgia took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th on LJ Talley’s homer off Parker Caracci (4-2).
Nick Fortes hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the 10th and scored the tying run when Dillard doubled off Aaron Schunk (2-2). Rowe ended it with a single up the middle.
Georgia (37-19) erased a 3-1 deficit to force extra innings. The Bulldogs capitalized on an errant throw by Caracci to tie the game with two unearned runs in the eighth.
A seventh-inning rain delay lasted nearly two hours.
LSU 6, SOUTH CAROLINA 4

Todd Peterson pitched five innings of relief and doubled home two runs in his first college at-bat Thursday as No. 8 seed LSU beat No. 5 seed South Carolina 6-4 in a 12-inning Southeastern Conference tournament elimination game.
LSU (35-24) plays Friday against the loser of the game between No. 1 seed Florida and No. 4 seed Arkansas.
Daniel Cabrera broke a 3-all tie with a two-out single in the 12th for LSU that scored Antoine Duplantis. Peterson followed with his double.
South Carolina scored once in the bottom of the 12th and had the tying run at the plate when Peterson struck out Jonah Bride to end the game.
Peterson (1-3) allowed two runs in five innings. South Carolina’s John Gilreath (0-1) gave up three unearned runs in 2 1/3 innings.
South Carolina (33-24) tied it in the ninth when LT Tolbert tripled and scored on Jacob Olson’s single.
Late Wednesday
ARKANSAS 13, SOUTH CAROLINA 8
Dominic Fletcher hit a three-run homer and Casey Martin homered twice to lead Arkansas over South Carolina 13-8 on Wednesday night in the Southeastern Conference tournament.
The Razorbacks (38-17) play Florida next. The Gamecocks (33-23) face an elimination game against LSU.
Fletcher and Martin helped power Arkansas to a 10-1 lead.
South Carolina scored five runs in the sixth on a bases loaded walk and LT Tolbert’s grand slam after the Razorbacks opted to leave starter Kacey Murphy (7-4) in the game.
Fletcher went 2 for 3 with five RBIs for Arkansas. Martin drove in three runs.
Tolbert was 4 for 5 and drove in five runs to lead South Carolina.
The Gamecocks scored twice in the ninth before reliever Barrett Loseke got Chris Cullen to ground into a double play.
