The freshman from Denmark missed tying the course record by one shot with an 8-under 64 on the Vista Dunes Course at the GlenLakes Golf Club. The Cobras shot 11-under as a team to move to 1-over through 54 holes. They lead second-round leader Meridian Community College by two shots and last year’s runners-up Mississippi Gulf Coast by six.

South Mountain is four at 10-over, and Abraham Baldwin is fifth at plus-18.

Because of expected weather delays Thursday, the tournament committee will be making a cut to the field to better ensure the 72-hole tournament can be completed. The top 15 teams will play in the final around, plus the top-24 teams and any player within 15 strokes of the individual leader. A statement from the tournament director can be found below.

Southeast’s Noah Hofman and South Mountain’s Jeffrey Miller lead the individual standings at 6-under. Kristensen and South Mountain’s Leon D’Souza are tied for third a shot back.

Kristensen made eight birdies and no bogeys in the lightning-interrupted round.

The teams endured a pair of weather delays caused by pop-up storms with lightning. There was a 75-minute delay starting at 11:30 a.m., and a 40-minute break starting at 4:40 p.m.

The fourth round will tee off Thursday at 7 a.m. from holes 1 and 10.
