MCC forces rubber match vs. LSU-E with trip to World Series on the line

Milton Smith, Trace Jordan and Davis Bradshaw all had two hits and one RBI apiece as Meridian Community College topped LSU-Eunice 6-1 Saturday in the championship round of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
The win for the Eagles (39-12) sets up a rubber match at 1 p.m. Sunday to determine which team will advance to the NJCAA World Series.
Sam McWilliams and Zack Carter also had RBIs for the Eagles, who scored three runs in the third inning, one run in the seventh and two runs in the eighth.
After LSU-Eunice loaded the bases with one out in the top of the first, Matthew Harrison relieved starter Jackson Bridges and struck out two to end the threat. Harrison went on to pitch 3 2/3 scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit and two walks while striking out eight. David Dunn pitched three innings for MCC, giving up one run on three hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Hunter Stanley closed things out for the Eagles by pitching two scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
